Find Balance, Comfort, and Confidence Riding
Lose the Frustration with Simple Weekly Exercises

Do you want to enjoy your time with your horse or the horses you ride, to create a stronger bond with them, and feel comfortable and confident when you ride.
Imagine this – you’re heading to the barn on a Sunday afternoon for a trail ride. You pull in to the dusty barn lane and spot your horse out in the field. She looks up at the sound of the car and starts wandering towards the gate. You bring her in and start tacking up, just enjoying the time together.
The bridle slips over her ears and you head out the arena to hop on and warm up before hitting the trails. A smile comes across your face as you pick up the trot and your horse takes a nice soft contact. A little extra pressure with the inside leg and she bends onto a circle. You smile again thinking about the last few months and how far your riding has come... maybe you should do that little dressage show next month...
After the warm up, you head out to the fields behind the barn for your trail ride. A few minutes later you spot it, that nice long uphill trail perfect for a canter. You shorten your reins, give your horse a quick pat on the neck and then you're off into the canter...

I’m Callie, and I would love to become your online riding instructor by inviting you to join me in the Balanced Riding Course!
If you want to do more in your riding
If you want a better connection and relationship with your horse
Perhaps you live in an area where you feel you don’t have access to quality instruction
Or you have a great local instructor but you want to learn more, to get new perspectives and learn about all the areas of horsemanship that just can’t be covered in a weekly lesson
Then I’d love to have you join me in the Balanced Riding Course, where you learn to read horse’s body language, communicate with the horse in a way they understand based on the science of learning, and where you can build a better connection with the horse.
But you’ll also take your riding to the next level with simple exercises to understand and implement those sometimes vague concepts in riding.
If you’ve been enjoying my weekly videos or participated in the Online Workshop, this is the next step to continue the learning you’ve had and the momentum you’ve been building.
It doesn’t matter if you ride school horses, or a friends horse, or you own your own horse. It also doesn’t matter what discipline you ride or if you are just starting out or getting back into riding. This is the 5th year I’ve offered this course and we have students who do all types of riding and are from all over the world!
So you are at the right place, and you may be surprised to know there are many students in our course who I think are a lot like you!
I want you to think of a moment in your riding where you just “got it” – you may not have even known what you did differently but all of a sudden everything felt right! These moments come at every level, every new skill you challenge yourself with.
In the beginning it may be those few steps of rising trot that seem completely effortless, then its when you can suddenly feel your horse lift his wither and round under the saddle. It may be that jump where you feel totally solid, or the canter transition that was super light.
What is a moment for you?
These moments are what keep us going, keep us working to improve, even through all those times we feel like we’re just fumbling around and thinking “what am I doing, my poor horse!”
It’s probably why you’re here now, watching this video and striving to better yourself as a rider!
The truth is it’s easy to get stuck, and the less we have these moments of yes that was it! The more quickly we can feel frustrated, defeated, and lose the fun of riding.
This can easily happen when you’re working on your own, but it can happen with an instructor too, even a really good instructor!
I do believe that a lot of what is taught about riding and training is a little lacking. Riders have a poor understanding of what they are being told to do and why they are doing it.
Also, besides having a preference in our learning style, how we take in information, we will connect to different visuals or explanations, so even with a great instructor at home, a fresh perspective, a new way of describing a concept can be just what you need to have more of those ah-ha moments!
This is why, in the Balanced Riding Course, I explain the mechanics of rider position or how to ride a certain gait or movement, but I also provide exercises to get that feel and to practice.
I teach not just what to do, but why, and how.
Many riders are taught to get on the horse and give the basic cues, but they aren’t given a more complete education on how the horse understands these cues and what to do when inevitably a problem comes up. Also most riding lessons don’t include all the little things, like reading a horse’s body language, catching them in the field, or handling problems on the ground.
With the Balanced Riding course, I look at rider education in a complete picture, and create a plan that takes you through each of these areas plus provides the big picture and future references for where you can go!
Let’s take a look at that plan…
I'm Callie King, creator of the Balanced Riding Course, as well as a professional trainer and riding instructor. As I started teaching and training, I worked with many adult riders who were either just starting out with horses or rode as a kid and were now returning to riding years later.
They had this desire to not only feel more confident and secure in the saddle, but also to be more connected to their horse. It didn’t matter if they were returning to riding or just starting out, they found they were struggling, getting tense, losing balance, or feeling uncomfortable with being told their riding wasn't working because they weren't "showing the horse who's boss".
Here are a few phrases I often heard from riders who felt frustrated or stuck...

When you're feeling stuck or you're just starting out, the vision I described earlier can seem a long way off. But it doesn't have to be.
If you’re a new rider and want to develop great habits and a great relationship with the horses you ride...
Or if you’re returning to riding and want to improve by revisiting the fundamentals of balance and movement...
Perhaps you’re a more experienced rider but you're looking to finally understand exactly how to get your horse "on the bit" and get them moving better...
Maybe you want to be able to give clear signals to your horse so they understand what you're really asking for...
You're at the right place. It all starts by just working on just that next step.

Through this course you will go through a journey of getting inside the mind of a horse, then learning how you can work through any behavior problem by teaching your horse something different.
You will improve your connection with your horse on the ground, working in each of the 3 types of groundwork.
When we start riding, we focus on balance first. Get back to simply enjoying the movement of your horse and feeling how you can move effortlessly with them.
Then improve your aids – your way of communicating to your horse while riding – so that your horse can be light and responsive.
Work up through all three of the riding gaits, posting and sitting the trot without bouncing, and riding the canter with ease. Now that you are balanced and stable, we’ll add finesse to your ride, teaching your horse to stretch his neck, lift his back, and become soft and supple.
Finally, you will level up all areas of your riding, through increasing your horse’s strength with dressage movements, to jumping in total balance, and hitting the trails, confident in your abilities to handle obstacles or spooks.

How Does the Course Work?
Here is how we will work through this course together:
Lesson One: Think Like a Horse
Have you ever felt completely confused by a horse – why does he act like this? Why won’t he just do what I am asking? Why does he do this for other people and not me? Or what about different training methods… which one should you follow, if any?
In Lesson One, you will be empowered with a deep understanding of the psychology of the horse, and the science of training. You will be able to identify what is causing certain problems with your horse, and how to work through them.

Lesson Two: Having Fun on the Ground
In this second lesson, we are going to be focusing on everything that we do with our horses on the ground. Many riding issues can be helped or resolved on the ground, and for those new to horses, the ground can be a safer place to become accustomed to reading horses and anticipating what they might do next.
Lesson Three: Follow the Movement
In this lesson we begin riding by covering the principles of riding that remain regardless of discipline. We start at the beginning, finding our alignment in the saddle. Then I will show you how to use the different riding aids to communicate with the horse, and not just your legs or your hands on the reins, but what to do with your body and seat to find those tiny, imperceivable cues that look invisible to anyone watching.
|
Lesson Four: Go, Stop, & Turn
In this lesson we will be advancing your riding, working through how we influence the speed and direction of the horse without tensing or losing balance, as well as how to ride the basic three gaits of walk, trot, and canter.
|
Lesson Five: Finessing the Ride
In this lesson, we begin paying more attention to our horse’s movement and how we can improve their movement, helping them to become stronger, more balanced, and more athletic.
We will also be considering many common problems under saddle and discussing specific solutions to help with these problems.

Lesson Six: Leveling Up
In Lesson Six, we level up – studying the basic movements in dressage, learning the fundamentals of jumping, and getting out on the trail, ready to handle even challenging riding situations.

What if I ride western, ride a gaited horse, etc?
I'm a firm believer that the basic training of horse and rider are the same across disciplines. Horse behavior and the science and art of training doesn't change with the type of saddle a horse is wearing. Also, the principles of good alignment, balance, and riding effectiveness apply no matter what style or discipline a rider chooses. I love my english saddles, but have many students who ride western, or have Aussie saddles, or ride Saddleseat, and some who don't even ride at all! All disciplines and types of riding and horses are welcome in the Balanced Riding Course!
What if my internet is super slow?
While most of the course content is delivered over the internet, the videos are downloadable and can be customized for playback in slow internet areas. If you do join and find that you can't participate in the course as you hoped, we offer a full guarantee.

Here's the Deal

We spend a lot on stuff… new blankets, new brushes, a fancy halter, and the newest, comfiest riding clothes.
But let’s be honest, having these things doesn’t make us a better rider, and they don’t improve our relationship with our horse or make our horse any happier.
Think about how much you spend on riding stuff, and then consider that the Balanced Riding Course, spread out over just your first year as a member (you’re in for life when you join) is only $2.73 a day. That’s less than a coffee on your way to the barn.
Think about the cost of taking many private lessons or riding in clinics. There is your ride and audit fees, plus the expense and hassle of time and travel, and unless you are lucky enough to have someone film your ride or are excellent at taking notes, you have only your memory to refer back on after a lesson or clinic.
There are also a lot of other books and DVD programs available, but what about when you have a question… or how do you know what to work on first out of all that information?
This is why the Balanced Riding Course is special – you can work at your own pace, learn in different ways, ask questions, and come back to the videos, audios, and workbook as often as you want.
The total value of everything that is included in the Balanced Riding Course is $2549. But you won't have to invest that much to join.
Join with one payment of $997 or Start today for $97 and pay in 12 monthly installments.
Remember this offer does close soon as enrollment closes as class starts.
If you join and decide the course isn't right for you there is a full money back guarantee.
